His Holiness the Dalai Lama said:
"Interdependence is a fundamental law of nature. Even tiny insects survive by mutual cooperation based on innate recognition of their interconnectedness. It is because our own human existence is so dependent on the help of others that our need for love lies at the very foundation of our existence. Therefore we need a genuine sense of responsibility and a sincere concern for the welfare of others."
Like so many people, I am warmed by the notion that we are all connected, but it's a tough ideal to hold on to when there is so much happening in the world that is not to our liking. It can make us feel powerless, helpless and afraid of might be around the corner. I freely admit to feeling those things from time to time.
But I remind myself that I am not alone. There are so many people in my immediate circle and on social media with whom I share a desire for doing good in the world and spreading hope, joy, love. So this blog post is a THANK YOU from me to you.
